Commander Appointment Stage, known as the "Watchtower" in history, is situated at the southeast end of the mountain city, with an altitude of 804 meters. It is a natural stone platform with a length of 17 meters and a width of 15 meters. It is the highest point of Wunvshan mountain near the river. It can be observed in all directions, with a view of more than a hundred miles. It is said that Meng Zhu, the progenitor of Koguryo, and Rengui Xue, the viceroy of the Tang Dynasty, had inspected thousands of troops here, so it was named "Commander Appointment Stage". There is a stone tablet carved with Bohu Tang's handwriting "Commander Appointment Stage". In case of emergency, soldiers would light wolf smoke here and send signals to the surrounding cities, in order to contact reinforcements. Therefore, it is the best lookout point of the "First Acropolis of the East". Today, it has become a popular scenic spot for tourists. Standing on the platform, you can overlook the endless forest at your feet, the vast expanses of smoke in Huanlong Lake, and the golden coastline winding like a colorful ribbon. It is just so beautiful and exciting!
