An ancient myth said: "Drink a cup of Tianchi water to rejuvenate", which refers to the reservoir here. Because it is located in the lowest place in the mountain city, precipitation collects here to form a pool, commonly known as "Tianchi", which was formed by Koguryo people dressing rocks. The pool is 12 meters long, 5 meters wide, and the deepest point is more than 2 meters. It never dries up all the year round. The pool is surrounded by earth-retaining stone walls, which can ensure the water quality. There is a one-meter square well in the southeast corner, with a depth of 1.2 meters. The water in the pool seeps into the well and can be directly drunk. There is also a small circular pool with a diameter of about 5 meters below, and the water in the big pool flows into this small one after it is filled. The records show that this small pool can be used for people living on the mountain and for soldiers to drink horses.
