In this flat area, there are a total of 21 pits. Each of them is a semi-underground building site in rectangular shape with rounded corners, distributed densely and closely. How these houses built? First, digging a rectangular pit about half a meter deep. The excavated soil is piled up around the house site to form a low waterproof wall. Some houses have heatable earth bed or masonry walls around the interior walls. There are usually 2 or 3 flue channels under the heatable earth bed. The channels are paved with flagstones, on which mud is applied to form the surface of bed. This is the stove, and the chimney is on the earth wall outside. There is only a circle of stones at the bottom of the chimney, so the chimney at that time should be hollow wood. Not any stone wall or column hole was found above the earth wall, which is presumed to be made of crossbars. The remains of a drainage ditch are faintly visible on an outdoor slope.

A large number of pottery, iron artifacts and other relics have been unearthed from the barracks site. Especially after two houses were on fire, the articles in the houses were all pressed into the pits. Many weapons, including iron arrowheads, iron spears, iron armor pieces and an iron armor jacket, have been unearthed, reflecting the military nature of these sites. Therefore, this site would have been a barracks, probably a garrison guarding the mountain city. The garrison is a combination of soldiers and civilians, serving civilians in peacetime and soldiers in wartime.
