This natural stone gate is about 60 meters long, 5 meters wide, and only 3.5 meters at its narrowest location. The stone walls on both sides are as steep as cut, which is one of the natural hazards of Wunvshan. Legend has it that Meng Zhu, the progenitor of Koguryo, passed by here, and suddenly saw the four characters "Heaven Bless Eternal Prosperity" flashing on the right cliff, believing that it was a revelation from heaven－ if he built his capital here, he would be able to ensure the everlasting prosperity of the country. So he decided to build the king capital on the mountain and named this natural stone gate "Tianchang Gate".
